F.A.Q.s

Where are you based? Do you travel?

I live in Newton-le-Willows (in St Helens) but I am always happy to travel for your wedding! Your travel costs are covered if your wedding is in Cheshire, Merseyside or Lancashire. If your wedding is taking place outside of this, travel is calculated at 45p per mile thereafter. Overnight accommodation will be necessary for long distance weddings & will need to be factored into your costs.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes, I have a couple of different style Folio albums on offer. These come at an additional price of £520 and can be purchased while booking or after the wedding if you wish. Sometimes these can make a good anniversary gift if you want to wait a year and save up.

Get in touch if you want more info on albums.

How long do you stay at our wedding? Will you need a meal?

I'm there all day - from preparations straight through to your first dance… and then a little afterwards to capture the dancing! Unless of course if you've booked a half-day package, then the coverage ends at the meal/speeches.

Meals aren't expected, but are always very much appreciated. I don't expect a 3 course meal either just a simple bar meal & a J20 will be fine.

We'd like to book you! What's the next stage?

I'm so happy that you have taken the time to look through my work and want to book with me! The next stage is to get in touch & book a complimentary consultation over a brew and some biscuits. This is a nice little relaxed meeting to get to know each other and talk about your day. I'll give you all the information you need at this meeting & you're free to take it all away with you to think it over in your own time.

How do we secure our wedding with you?

Once you're happy to book, simply fill out the contract, sign it & send it back via e-mail. At this point you will also be asked to pay your non-refundable booking fee, which is 30% of the total. This is to completely secure the date.

Without the fee & signed contract, the date will only be held for 7 days before the date becomes available again, so try to be as quick as you can.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash is fine, but the easiest and most convenient method is online banking. Whichever way you pay, I'll send you an invoice as proof of payment.

I do not accept credit cards or payments made via PayPal.

How many photos will we get?

A question I'm always asked is about numbers - but I can't ever give an exact figure. All weddings are different. Some people have 140 guests, some only have 40. It also depends if you have a second shooter, or what package you choose. This means your total image count can range anywhere between 300 and 1000 photos.

Numbers aren't what I concentrate on. I always aim to deliver quality over quantity and never clog up your USB with boring 'filler' images. Trust me, you'll get all the best shots.

When will our photos be ready?

For weddings, I like to make sure that all your photographs are processed fully and I do them individually instead of batch editing. Therefore, the time I give myself to complete wedding photographs is within 10 - 12 weeks (from starting post-processing to delivery). Please remember this may be slightly longer during the busier wedding season. I keep you in the loop via email during this process, so you will be up to date with how I'm doing. I'll also send you a handful of previews a day or two after the wedding.

Can we print our photos ourselves?

Absolutely! I'm a strong believer in the fact that if you pay for a photographic service, your images are yours to print. All the packages come with printing & sharing rights, meaning you can print them wherever and whenever you want. But remember the copyright always remains with me, which means you don't own the images (i.e. you can't sell them or claim them as your own!)

We're all booked in. When do we see you next?

I'll be in touch to meet up with you a month before your wedding so we can go over the finer details of your day. A good idea is for us to meet at the venue and have a little walk round. If you're having a church wedding, let me know when your rehearsal is so I can pop along, too!

If you've booked a pre-wedding shoot, we'll meet up 2-3 months before your wedding to do the shoot.

Though this isn't set in stone. We can meet up anytime before the wedding if you want to chat through any ideas or show me your venue earlier. Just send me an email and we can arrange it.

What are the advantages of adding a second shooter to our package?

If you would like a second photographer to attend your wedding day, this can be added to your package for an additional £220. I would highly  recommend hiring a second shooter if you have more than 80 guests during the day time, just to make sure you capture every moment. Here is a short list of advantages from having a second shooter:

• More photographs of your day on your USB.
• Complete groom prep coverage.
• Wider coverage of the ceremony
• More candids

Are you insured?

Yes, absolutely. I have professional indemnity & public liability insurance. So you're in good/safe hands!

It's probably wise to note that I'm not responsible for any personal injury. That means if your groomsmen - in an act of drunken madness - decide to climb a tree for a photo, when I've not directed them to, and they injure themselves in the process - I can't be held responsible.
