Tracy & John-Paul’s bright spring wedding

Spring is by far one of my favourite seasons to photograph weddings, purely as it’s so symbolic of love. The nights are getting lighter, days a little warmer, flowers are in bloom, there are new baby lambs in every field you pass. Spring signifies new life & new beginnings, therefore makes a perfect season for weddings.

Tracy & John-Paul are two of the nicest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. When I first met Tracy and her mum Christine last year to chit-chat all things wedding, I knew this was going to be a gorgeous day and instantly couldn’t wait to be part of their wedding. One of the most important things to me is that we all get on well, so to instantly feel like you gel with people on a personal is amazing & is exactly how I felt when I met them – it got even better once I found out that Tracy loves Harry Potter just as much as I do 🙂

They decided to get married in a small yet beautiful church in Widnes, St John Fisher, which is just tucked away neatly off Moorfield Road. Tracy had secretly organised for her hubby-to-be & the lads to be picked up in a vintage camper van, something that meant a lot to John-Paul. The girls weren’t left out of all the fun though and got to follow the lads up to the church in their own later!

Afterwards we travelled over to Park Hall hotel in Chorley, a place where I absolutely love to photograph. They had the medieval banquet hall, dressed so beautifully in a pale yellow & bright orange to match their light, spring colour theme. Taking pride of place at the front of the room was their wedding cake, subtly decorated with Gerbera daisy’s and finished with a personalised cake topper of Me & Mrs Sweeney in their amazing camper van.

The entire day was beautiful, I loved every minute of the day spending it with the newly weds and watching their love for each other become stronger than ever. John-Paul’s speech had pretty much EVERYONE in the room in tears with his beautiful words – including me! It was so special and i’m so grateful to have been asked to capture these special moments. **raises glass** Here’s to Mr & Mrs Sweeney!

“Anyway the thing is what I really mean,
Yours are the sweetest eyes I’ve ever seen.
